Port Blair is famous for its iconic cellular jail and its beautiful sunrise and sunset points at the sea ports. In 1943, which is even much before India's independence, freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose visited Andaman and he hoisted this beautiful Tricolor flag on this Indian soil for the very first time in memory to declare Andaman & Nicobar Islands free from the rule of Britishers. And till today, this flag over here and this place stands as a great memorial.
