Importance of वसंत पंचमी Festival | Saraswati Puja विद्या की देवी

Basant Panchami or Vasant Panchami marks the onset of the beautiful spring festival when we worship Goddess Saraswati who is considered to be the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Basant Panchami is a festival that reminds us of the arrival of the beautiful spring season. And we all celebrate Basant Panchami to welcome spring. Further, we also worship Goddess Saraswati on this day. Goddess Saraswati is considered to be the God of harvest and the spring. Worshiping her on this sacred day with sweets and flowers is considered significant and pure.

Basant Panchami or Saraswati puja is a cultural festival that is celebrated in India as well as in many other parts of the world like Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia and many more. On this day, many people dress up in yellow color dresses that signifies and marks the arrival of spring when the mustard fields bloom up with beautiful yellow mustard flowers. May the sunshine of this pretty yellow color bring light, love, happiness and peace in your lives. May the blessings of Maa Saraswati be showered on all of you. The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. Mata Saraswati is considered to be the Goddess of music and Goddess of wisdom. So this day, people worship Goddess Saraswati to be blessed with knowledge, intelligence, music and sweetness. Jai Maa Saraswati Namastute!

Mostly this festival is observed in the months of February where the dates may vary as per the annual calendars. Many of you here reading this blog must also be celebrating this festival in your own ways. I celebrate it by wearing a yellow dresses and by worshiping Maa Saraswati and worshiping my study books on this day. Valentine's Day Heart Shaped Choco Pie Recipe | Nutella Little Hearts

Here comes the much awaited festival of love, the sweet valentine day which marks the final day of this special valentine week. Every year this festival of love is celebrated on 14th of February all across the nation. Valentine is all dedicated to love and sweetness. February is the month of hearts, the sweet hearts and chocolates unlike the sweet chocolate pie. So come try this recipe and spread your happiness all around with your dear ones.

It is February, the beautiful and the sweetest month of love, the month filled with hearts, roses, chocolates and celebrations all around the world with love ones together. So to make this valentine day more special and memorable, lets cook something loving that steals the heart of your loved ones once and forever. Let us try this recipe of chocolate pie, the sweet heart pies that is crunchy from outside and chocolaty from inside.

The chocolate filled pies molded in the beautiful shape of an heart is a must have for valentines. These are definitely a sure shot option to steal the heart of your loved ones. These sweet heart pies are filled and made with chocolaty love and affection. They are warm and crisp, they are sweet and soft. They are filled with a smooth creamy chocolaty filling of nutella that is really tempting and flaky. So why not try this sweet stuffed hearts this valentine. Surprise your love with a chocolaty heart. The golden brown edges of the pie, the falling sugar syrups, the mouthwatering nutella, oh doesn't it sound amazing?

INGREDIENTS:

- 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)

- 1/4 cup powdered sugar

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1/4 cup melted ghee or butter

- approximately 1/2 cup cold milk 

- 1/2 cup nutella chocolate spread

PREPARATION:

Step 1: Mix together atta, powdered sugar, salt, ghee and milk to make a quick dough. Use the milk slowly slowly as per the desired requirements for binding the dough completely. 

Step 2: Once the dough is ready, divide it into two equal halves

Step 3: First roll one dough to about 3 mm thickness and cut different heart shapes from that with the help of a small heart shaped cookie cutter. I got around 6-7 heart pieces from one dough. 

Step 4: Cut as many hearts as possible from the dough and repeat the process with the remaining dough as well.

Step 5: Add around 1/4 tsp of ready-made bottled nutella in the center of the heart and cover that filled heart with another heart cutout.

Step 6: Seal the prepared/filled hearts well all along the sides by pushing down with the help of your fingertips.

Step 7: Using a folk teeth, crimp the pushed sides to give a beautiful design to your sweet filled hearts.

Step 8: Grease the heart from both the sides and sprinkle enough powdered sugar on it.

Step 9: Grease a pan/kadhaai and bake the filled hearts on the lowest flame of your gas stove. Keep the pan covered with a tight lid throughout and maintain the gas flame to lowest.

Step 10: Once the edges turn golden brown, you may slowly flip the heart for half a more minute and then your hearts are ready to be served warm and crunchy.

So this was a simple list of all the days during the valentine week as per their calendar dates. All of the special days mentioned above in the valentine week can easily be understood by their special names. However, let us get a quick insight about the special significance of these days as below:

ROSE DAY:

The first day of valentine week is the rose day. Roses, as we all know is a flower of love that spreads its sweet fragrance of redness to its surroundings. To start the week with a fresh note, a romantic mood, and a vibe of love and fragrance, people generally tend to start sharing roses with their loved ones to begin with the valentine week and gear up the week of love with fragrance. This day is significant for sharing beautiful colorful roses with the near and dear ones and cherish its lovely fragrance and freshness in their lives.

PROPOSE DAY: 

The second day of valentine week is the propose day. This day is significant for those who are actually waiting for a day when they could find a special chance to lovingly propose their loved ones . So this day is for all of them. It is a chance for them to propose and cherish. On this day, in order to make it memorable, one can take their partner or their loved ones to a peaceful loving or a romantic place and offer the proposal, may be directly with a word or a sentence, or with some song or tunes, or with a precious ring. 

CHOCOLATE DAY: 

Third day of valentine week is the beautiful chocolate day that is my favorite one out of the entire bundle. Most of girls and boys love chocolates. Chocolate is something that is really sweet and loved by mostly everyone. It is one the sweetest thing that can actually be consumed and tasted, a great way to make your partner feel happy and sweet. On this day, people exchange sweets and chocolates with their near and dear ones and make the day a sweeter one to cherish.

TEDDY DAY:

Teddy day is the fourth day of this valentine week. Who doesn't love gifts. And teddies are something that are over too cute, soft, and hug-able. They really enlighten the space with cuteness and warmth. So on this day, people generally share or exchange teddies and teddy bears to spread their love and emotions.

PROMISE DAY:

Fifth day of the valentine week is the real promise day, the day when this week takes a serious turn and helps people get more closer with realities and emotions. On this day, people take oaths and promise to take care of each other and love them forever under every circumstances. Both of them make promises to each other for a healthier and a brighter trustworthy relationship of tomorrow that is strong and bonded. It can either be some new promise for a new tomorrow or a desired awaited promise that needed a chance, a special day to unlock.

HUG DAY:

Hug day is generally the sixth day of valentines week. Hugs are something that wraps up your love and emotions deeply into your soul and are entangled with love and care. On this day people generally hug their loved ones with a feeling and promise of togetherness. It is a feeling of love and an emotion of togetherness. A feeling that there is someone with you who will never let you down. 

KISS DAY: 

On the seventh day of valentines week comes the kiss day. It is final day of the week. Next day would be the special valentine day, a new tomorrow. On this day, on the kiss day people generally tend to get more closer and stronger with a bonded feeling of togetherness and love. Its a day to sweeten up your relationship with added care and emotions.

VALENTINE DAY:

The last but not the least, finally comes the much awaited valentine day. The final and last day of this special valentines week. Every year it is celebrated of 14th of February, across countries. This is the day when the wait is all over. The beautiful week comes to an end with a lovely valentines day. The tie to celebrate, the time to rejoice, the time to party, the time to exchange gifts, and most importantly love. Its the day of love!

Valentine week is all about love and celebrations. February is the month of love and February 7th to 14 is being celebrated as the special valentine week all throughout the world with great charm and happiness. Significance of Makar Sanranti | Happy Lohri / Sankranti / Pongal

Makar Sankranti or मकर संक्रांति or Maghi is one of the very ancient Indian festivals that is celebrated in reference to the divine God Surya or Sun, in accordance to the solar cycles. It is celebrated mostly on 14th of January every year, however the dates may vary a bit depending on the transit of Sun and Hindu calendars. 

Makara stands for Capricorn that marks the end of winter months with a fresh start of longer sunny days again. The festival has different names all across the country. North Indians celebrate the festival of Lohri to celebrate this day, while South Indians celebrate Pongal, and similarly Assamese celebrate Magh Bihu. One festival but many names and celebrated differently all across. But the divine presence of the festival is associated with one and all.

Colorful decorations, Songs, Bonfires, Dance, Treats, Kite flying, and Feasts are few of the engagements that we all engage in to observe the festival and make it festive. The love and harmony spreads across the nation with kites flying high in the sky, the sun rising up in the sky, and the bonfires lighting up the entire environment. 

On this holy day, to mark the festival, I would like to heartily wish you all a very very Happy Lohri, Happy Makar Sankranti, Happy Pongal, Happy Bihu to all of you guys. Stay happy, stay blessed and keep smiling. To begin with the festival, many people even go to the Holy Ganga and River Yamuna to take the holy dip at "Kumbha ka Mela".  It is said that offering prayers to the Sun and bathing in the holy river is considered to be a sacred thing. The festival is being dedicated to Lord Sun, and the significance of Sun can be seen on the solar cycles with an interchanging seasons.

It is one of the very first festivals of a new year 2019. The Sun shines with a new hope on this festival with the flying kites that denote a ray of hope, higher aspirations and joy. May this vibrant festival bring in joy and prosperity in your lives and fill it with loads and loads of blessings for a better and a peaceful tomorrow. Homemade rose serum is a pure and natural home remedy to get a beautiful glowing pink and a clear skin that is very hydrating and highly moisturized. Here in this blog I would be writing about how you can make a nourishing skincare serum easily at home with natural ingredients like fresh rose petals, fresh aloe vera leaves or aloe vera gel, almonds and milk. All of these are a great source of nutrients and essential proteins that are very much needed by your skin to retain its color, texture and strength. 

Rose is a natural glowing agent that keeps your skin younger and gives you a glowing brightened skin that looks rosy pink and younger. This rosy pink serum would not only give your face a pinkish glow, but it would also remove dark pigmentation, dark spots, acne, wrinkles, and all such similar problems from your skin. It will make your skin complexion fairer and give you a fully fresh, refreshed, and a glowing skin naturally. 

Ingredients:

1) Rose Petals: 3 to 4 tsp

2) Soaked & Peeled Almonds: 3 to 4 pieces

3) Fresh Milk Cream: 1 tsp

4) Raw Milk: 3 to 4 tsp

5) Vitamin E Capsule: 1 piece

6) Rose Water or any Essential Oil: 3 to 4 drops

Method for Preparation:

Step 1: Wash the rose petals to remove any unwanted dust particles

Step 2: In a mixing/grinding jar, grind together rose petals, peeled almonds that were already soaked overnight), fresh cream and raw milk to make a smooth paste

Step 3: Strain/filter out the mixture that we just grinded in the jar and collect in an open bowl, as shown in the video below. 

Step 4: Add rose water, vitamin-e capsule, and aloevera gel to the filtered solution and make a gel like consistency that is very smooth and creamy. Stir it to make a creamy moisturizer that is so pure and natural. The color that you would get is a lovely pinkish colored cream or serum that you would definitely fall in love with. 

Step 5: Transfer the prepared serum into a clean, dry container and store it in your refrigerator for 10 to 12 days.

Application (How to Apply):

Apply the prepared serum daily before sleep or before applying any makeup and get a beautiful pink and a glowing skin so naturally. To apply this serum, I would recommend you to first wash and cleanse your face with a face wash and pat it dry with a soft towel. After that, apply this serum slowly in upward and circular motion to give a small massage to your face and nourish your skin with love and care of this miracle rosy serum.

Morni Hills Tikkar Taal: Weekend Gateway from Chandigarh & Delhi

Who doesn't love natural beauties, scenic mountain views, driving amidst nature and clouds, and travelling to a paradise like place. Tikkar Taal located on the beautiful Morni Hills in the Panchkula district of Haryana is a lovely weekend gateway from Chandigarh or Delhi. It is hardly 1.5 hour drive from Chandigarh. The hilly roads are narrow, but can be explored on own like we did this winter morning. 

It was a cold freezy winter morning, the first week of January, the new year week of 2019. So we started our drive to the beautiful Morni hills to begin our new year 2019. And really it was an awesome experience all together. The place is simply awesome. You will fall in love with the place. Winter is the best time to travel here.

The beautiful Morni Hills is told to be the only hill station of Haryana with an ultimate panoramic scenic beauty, greenery and an amazing hills view. Morni is a beautiful village in the Panchkula district of Haryana. Morni Hills is one of the key attractions for the tourists of North India. People from Delhi, Chandigarh and nearby places frequently prefer to visit this place and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lovely sleeping mountains that is covered with greenery and flying clouds. 

Morni is located at a distance of around 45 kilometers from the city of Chandigarh. I went to the Tikkar Taal lake that is situated on these Morni hills. The Tikkar Taal lake resort is a beautiful resort with open balconies to enjoy the beautiful view of the sleepy hills. It is run by Haryana tourism and is funded by the Government. 

Tikkar Taal is one of the most famous places to visit in the Morni Hills, Haryana. It is full of adventure and fun. Morni Hills is told to be the only hill station of Haryana and it belongs to the Haryana tourism. The mesmerizing beauty of the hill, the amazing scenic beauty will surely blow away your thoughts and mood. The video attached in this blog would justify my words.

A boat ride in the Tikkar Taal lake along the beautiful Morni Hills is an added advantage of the place. Tikkar Taal is actually the name of a lake which is around 1.5 hours drive from Chandigarh. Variety of food options are easily available in the lake view restaurant of the Tikkar Taal lake. It is an open restaurant, where you can sit, order, enjoy your food and enjoy the lovely view of the nature, lake and the hills. The food served in the restaurant is pretty affordable and is decent. 

Winter seasons are the preferred time to visit Morni Hills and Tikkar Taal lake or resorts, when you can welcome the sun and relax in open sun to enjoy the lovely view of hills from the lake, along with boating and various play activities including camel rides and adventure sports. There are lots of activity points in the Tikkar Taal lake like rope climbing, tyre climbing, camel rides, boating, etc. It is a clear, green, and a good place relax and spend some good time with your friends or family. It is an excellent weekend gateway for winters with a panoramic view of the natural beauty. 

Apart from the Tikkar Taal lake, there are Morni Adventure park, Morni Fort, Morni Birds Zoo, etc. in the area. However, we opted to visit only the Tikkar Taal lake this time because it was just a one day trip.

International Gita Mahotsav 2018 at Brahma Sarovar Kurukshetra, Haryana

Brahma Sarovar pe Gita Jayanti Festival

We all know the importance of Srimad Bhagwat Gita, a sacred guide to humanity which contains infinite number of invaluable guidance. The spiritual message that Lord Krishna gave to Arjuna in the battlefield of the great Mahabharata, the ultimate guiding light to humanity is so well noted in Srimad Bhagwat Gita.

Gita bhoomi Kurukshetra is world famous for the sacred guide Gita,that was narrated in this battle Mahabharata that took place long long years back. The International Geeta Mahotsav, as detailed in the video linked in this blog, is held every year in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana, India. It is organized with great pride and enthusiasm to celebrate the birth of Srimad Bhagwat Gita and to pay tribute to the holy Gita. Every year it is being organized mostly in the months of November or December, for around 15 to 18 days. 

The festival, The Gita Jayanti is flooded and occupied with n number of beautiful and amazing handicrafts fair consisting of various herbal, handmade, chemical free, fresh, organic and natural products. Not only this, the festival also includes Gita reading, bhajan sandhya, aarti, cultural programs, social gatherings and more.

Since years Gita Jayanti is being celebrated in Kurukshetra and even other places to mark the birth of Srimad Bhagwat Gita, and has gained a lot of popularity in these years. Loads of people, including tourists gather here to attend the fair and the festival. The entire environment gets holy and its really a peaceful and a heavenly experience to attend the festival.

This year, in 2018, I got this opportunity to personally visit the holy Gita bhoomi Kurukshetra and attend the International Gita Mahotsav, I really loved the whole thing out there and my experience was simply amazing. It was truly a bliss to attend the fair and pay our small tribute to Gita. 

International Gita Mahotsav is organized every year at the beautiful Brahman Sarovar, Kurukshetra in Haryana. It is celebrated to pay regards to Srimad Bhagwat Gita and is held mostly in the months of November or December every year. November or December is a cold month in North India, and it was really freezing cold out here in Kurukshetra during the fest. However, walking besides the beautifully lighted and decorated Brahmasarovar Lake and exploring the colorful and fascinating stalls in the fair was a different and an amazing experience. I would definitely love to come back to this fair in 2019 as well.
